Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech → Imi Oughlad (1,450 m) → Tizzian

Pick-up from your Marrakech hotel and drive through the foothills of the High Atlas to Imi Oughlad (1,450 m). Here you’ll meet your guide and muleteers before beginning your trek. Ascend to the Tizi n’Tacht pass (2,000 m), where lunch is served with panoramic views over the Azzaden Valley. Continue through farmland and terraced hillsides to reach Tizzian village, where you’ll overnight in a Berber guesthouse.

Walking: 5–6 hours

Day 2: Tizzian → Tizi n’Takhrkhort → Tizgui n’Tkent

After breakfast, follow a gentle but steady climb to the Tizi n’Takhrkhort pass, with sweeping views of the surrounding valleys. Descend through walnut groves and riverside paths to Islan village for a shaded picnic lunch. In the afternoon, continue across terraced fields before reaching the peaceful Tizgui n’Tkent, where you’ll stay overnight in a local family house.

Day 3: Tizgui n’Tkent → Tizi n’Tagdalt (2,800 m) → Tizi Oussem

Today’s trek leads toward the Tizi n’Tagdalt pass (2,800 m), the highest point of your journey, located near the impressive Tazaghart Plateau. Pause for a break and enjoy spectacular views before descending toward Agouns n’Soul for lunch by the river. Continue along scenic trails to Tizi Oussem village, set in the heart of the Azzaden Valley. Overnight in a Berber guesthouse.

Day 4: Tizi Oussem → Tizi M’Zik (2,400 m) → Imlil

After breakfast, climb steadily through juniper and pine forests to the Tizi M’Zik pass (2,400 m). From here, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the High Atlas peaks and valleys. After lunch, descend into the Imlil Valley, the trekking hub of the Toubkal region. Overnight in a comfortable guesthouse in Imlil.

Day 5: Imlil → Tizi n’Tamatert (2,279 m) → Amsakrou

Set out from Imlil and climb toward the Tizi n’Tamatert pass (2,279 m), enjoying views of both the Imnan Valley and the Ait Mizane Valley. Stop for lunch near the pass before continuing down through juniper forests and traditional hamlets. Arrive in the village of Amsakrou, where you’ll spend the night in a family-run guesthouse.

Day 6: Amsakrou → Tizi n’Ougrsioual → Marrakech
